Detailed Itinerary

Arrival Day: Pick Up and Transfer to the Guest House

On arrival at the airport, you will be received by our professional tour guide who will drive you to the hotel in Entebbe for a small break.

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park

In the morning, you will be briefed by your guide about the trip before proceeding to Lake Mburo National Park. You will set off from Entebbe at 10am.

After lunch at the lodge and a relaxation break, enjoy a sunset nature walk that will bring you up close with animals like Zebras, Impala, Giraffes, and many more.

Day 2: Transfer from Lake Mburo NP to Lake Bunyonyi

The journey continues to Lake Bunyonyi, which is adorned with about 20 small islands and provides some of Uganda’s best scenery. Its natural beauty makes it a favorite for tourists who wish to relax after or in-between a long safari. Canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi is the best relaxing experience.

Day 3: Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Bwindi Impenetrable NP

After your early morning breakfast, embark on your journey to the Ruhija sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in the Gorilla highlands. This road trip will take you through the rough yet scenic region of the countryside.

In the evening, visit the Batwa people, who were the co-inhabitants of the forest with the gorillas before they were evacuated in the 1990s to enhance gorilla conservation efforts.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking – Full Day Experience

After your very early morning breakfast, drive to the park offices for briefing and registration.

The gorilla trekking experience is an exciting lifetime experience that has been listed by millions of travelers on their must-do list. This experience requires a certain level of fitness as the trek can take 1-7 hours before you get eye to eye with these gentle giants.

Important guidelines:

  • Face mask is mandatory
  • Maintain 7 meters distance from the gorillas
  • Bring packed lunch and minimum 2 liters of water
  • Additional guidelines will be shared by your guide the day before

The thick jungles of Bwindi are also home to chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, butterflies, forest hogs, forest elephants, and an amazing collection of birds.

Day 5: Transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable NP to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your early morning breakfast, embark on the journey to Uganda’s most popular destination and the richest national park in terms of biodiversity.

On arrival at the lodge, have lunch and a small relaxation break before heading out for a sunset game drive in the Kasenyi sector of the park.

Day 6: Full Day in Queen Elizabeth National Park

The Kasenyi plains are famous for game drives, while the Kazinga channel boat cruise is one of the best boat trip experiences to encounter wildlife on water in Africa. The scenery in western Uganda is breathtaking, from endless savanna grasslands to amazing views of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Start with an early morning sunrise game drive in the Kasenyi plains to catch dawn-active mammals like lions and leopards. In the afternoon, enjoy a 2-hour boat trip on the famous Kazinga channel, which attracts hundreds of elephants and buffalos quenching their thirst. Numerous crocodiles and birds are permanent residents here. En route to the lodge, visit Kyambura twin lakes for a sundown view.

Day 7: Transfer from Queen Elizabeth NP to Kibale National Park

After morning breakfast, drive to Kasese for a two-hour visit at “Citizens Dream Relief Initiative School Project” before proceeding to Kibale National Park through the Kasenda volcanic field.

After lunch, enjoy an evening swamp walk and community experience. Learn about banana beer, wine and gin making, coffee production, basket weaving, and traditional medicines from the local medicine man.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park

Kibale is known as the “primate’s capital of the world” and is arguably the best place to track chimpanzees on earth, with 13 primate species – the highest number in Uganda.

After early morning breakfast, drive to the park head offices for briefing and registration before entering Kibale forest to trek your closest relatives, the Common Chimpanzees. The experience takes 1-4 hours, and a face mask is mandatory. Bring 2 liters of water.

Day 9: Transfer from Kibale to Murchison Falls National Park

After early morning breakfast, start your long road trip to Murchison National Park. En route to the lodge, visit the top of the falls to see Africa’s longest river squeeze through an 8-meter narrow gorge on its journey north.

Note: Flying to Murchison Falls is an optional alternative. Please be informed that this option may require booking a private charter flight from Kasese-Murchison.

Day 10: Full Day in the Park

After an early morning breakfast, head out for a sunrise game drive. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride towards the bottom of the falls.

Day 11: Transfer from Murchison Falls NP to Entebbe

After an early morning game drive, begin your journey back to Entebbe with a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking – the only place in the country where you can see Rhinos in a natural environment.
